DUVA JOINS FATHER IN HALL OF FAMEPromoter Dan Duva joins his father, the legendary trainer/manager Lou Duva, a 1998 inductee, in the Hall of Fame. The Duvas are only the third father-son combination elected into the Hall of Fame. Prof. Mike Donovan and his son, referee Arthur, were enshrined in 1998 and 1993 respectively, while Young Dutch Sam joined his father, 1997 Hall of Famer Dutch Sam, in the Hall of Fame in 2002. Dan Duva died in 1996 and will be honored posthumously. On Dan Duva "I'm really thrilled. This means so much to me, to have father and son in the International Boxing Hall of Fame. I thought one day I might be able to get in the Hall of Fame, but I knew my son was real capable of being in and should be in. Now for a father and son to both be in, it's great. The Duva family is so proud. I'm at a loss for words." - Lou Duva, trainer, 1998 Hall of Fame Inductee & father of Dan Duva. |
