HALL OF FAMER JACK FISKE

CANASTOTA, NY - JANUARY 24, 2006 - The International Boxing Hall of Fame announced its flags will fly at half-staff in memory of boxing journalist Jack Fiske. He passed away this morning at the age of 88.

Born Jacob Quincy Finkelstein on July 15, 1917. In 1940, Fiske was a boxing reporter and columnist at the Newport News Daily Press, Alameda Times-Star and the Richmond Independent before joining the staff of the San Francisco Chronicle, where he covered boxing for over 40 years.
