SEPTEMBER 2, 2009 - New York State Athletic Commission Chairperson Melvina Lathan recently toured the Hall of Fame Museum while in Central New York for “Fight Night at the Fair” in Syracuse, NY on Sept. 2nd.

A former boxing judge for 20 years with 83 world title bouts on her resume, Lathan was appointed the first woman chairperson by Gov. David Paterson on July 25, 2008.

Lathan and several members of the NYS Athletic Commission spent time enjoying the Museum’s many exhibits on boxing’s rich history, including displays on previous Athletic Commission Chairpersons Floyd Patterson and Jose Torres and the world famous MSG boxing ring.
