Female boxing legend Christy "The Coal Miner's Daughter" Martin kicked off her week-long training camp at the Boxing Hall of Fame on Monday, August 24th. Martin will conduct workout sessions from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. daily at the Hall of Fame’s Event Pavilion until Monday, August 31st. Workouts sessions will include sparring, heavy bag, speed bag, jump rope and more. The daily workouts are open to the public. Also, admission to the Hall of Fame will be waived during the training sessions.

Martin will fight Dakota Stone for the vacant WBC junior middleweight title on September 2nd “Fight Night at the Fair”  at the New York State Fair in Syracuse, NY. "Fight Night at the Fair" will feature three main events. In addition to Martin's title fight, 2004 Olympic heavyweight Jason Estrada (15-2, 3 KOs) will meet Zuri Lawrence (24-14-4) and middleweight James McGirt Jr. (20-2-1, 9 KOs) will square off with Anthony Pietrantonio.

Bouts are scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Mohegan Sun Grandstand. Four additional bouts featuring some of New York State’s most exciting, up-and-coming professional fighters are also scheduled.
