NOVEMBER 11, 2010 - Massachusetts-based boxing fan Ed Salerno toured the Hall of Fame Museum with his wife Nancy today. A former amateur fighter on the Fort Dix boxing team, Salerno logged an undefeated 10-0 record (9 KOs). The Salernos enjoyed seeing photos and exhibits on many favorites including Rocky Marciano, Rocky Graziano, Willie Pep, Jake LaMotta, Joe Louis, Marvelous Marvin Hagler and Sugar Ray Leonard.

While at the Hall, Salerno donated a collection of 1950s fight photos that he accumulated as a teenager to the Hall of Fame. The lot included classic shots of Kid Gavilan, Roland LaStarza, Jersey Joe Walcott, Rocky Marciano and Jake LaMotta.

“We are so appreciative of Mr. Salerno’s generosity,” said Hall director Ed Brophy. “The photos will help us maintain our mission to preserve boxing’s history.”
