Born on January 18, 1958 in Hartford, CT. 

Yalen developed an interest in boxing at a young age and while still in high school began researching fight records and created the newsletter This Month At Ringside. He parlayed his passion for statistics and accuracy to become associate editor of The Ring Record Book from 1982-86 and Fight Fax record book. In addition to being considered one of boxing’s leading historians and record keepers for nearly five decades, Yalen has held many high-level positions in the sport. He was boxing coordinator, associate producer and Director of Boxing for ABC Sports, matchmaker and Director of Programming and Acquisitions (1996-2004) at ESPN, producer of NBC Sports boxing coverage of the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games and chairman of the WBC Ratings Committee. His television work earned him 6 Sports Emmy Awards and the 1993 BWAA Sam Taub Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism. Yalen’s expertise earned him consultant positions at SHOWTIME, CBS Sports and Fox Sports. 

In 2018 he joined MTK Global and was appointed President and CEO, overseeing the management of 300 boxers including champions Josh Taylor and Tyson Fury.
