2026 HALL OF FAME WEEKEND FESTIVITIES
Annual Hall of Fame Weekend celebration set for June 11-14
CANASTOTA, NY - MAY 20, 2026 - The International Boxing Hall of Fame and Museum is pleased to announce that two-time welterweight world champion “Showtime” Shawn Porter will participate in 2026 Hall of Fame Weekend festivities set for June 11-14.
“During his two reigns as welterweight champion Shawn Porter thrilled fans with his pressuring style, high work rate and determination in the ring,” said Hall of Fame director Edward Brophy. “We are thrilled to welcome him to ‘Boxing’s Hometown’ for Hall of Fame Weekend festivities.”
Following an impressive 276-14 amateur career that includes wins over future champions Daniel Jacobs, Demetrius Andrade and Oleksandr Usyk. Porter turned pro in 2008. He won the welterweight title twice, defeating Devon Alexander for the IBF belt in 2013 and Danny Garcia for the WBC belt in 2018. “Showtime” also scored wins over Yordenis Ugas, Andre Berto, Paulie Malignaggi, Julio Diaz and Alfonso Gomez before retiring in 2021. He is the founder and host of the popular The Porter Way Podcast.
In addition to Porter, an impressive array of boxing stars from around the world are set to be in Canastota including Marco Antonio Barrera, Mikey Garcia, Michael Spinks, Christy Martin, Erik Morales, Timothy Bradley Jr., Winky Wright, Jim Lampley, “Jesse” James Leija, Kelly “The Ghost” Pavlik, Vinny Paz, Kenny Bayless, Jorge Linares, Buddy McGirt, Ray Mercer, Ruben Olivares, Gerry Cooney and Eric “Butterbean” Esch.
The 2026 Hall of Fame Weekend is scheduled for June 11-14. Many events will take place in Canastota and nearby Turning Stone Resort Casino throughout the four-day celebration including ringside talks, fist casting, fight night, 5K race / fun run, boxing autograph card show, banquet, parade and induction ceremony.
The grand marshal of the Parade of Champions will be Sugar Ray Leonard and the 1976 U.S. Olympic Boxing Team, who will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Olympic Games. In addition to Leonard, gold medal winners Michael Spinks and Leo Randolph; silver medal winner Charles Mooney and team member Chuck Walker will be attending.
A full card of professional boxing action, including two title bouts, will be presented by Christy Martin Promotions on Friday, June 12th in The Event Center at Turning Stone Resort Casino.
